Beginning Crochet
Descriptions
This class is designed to teach the basics of crochet – both back and forth and in the round. We will learn single crochet, half double crochet and double crochet as well as the uses of chain stiches. The first week we will make a sampler that can be used as a coaster or a washcloth, working in rows. We will also discuss shaping possibilities to create different 2-D shapes.
The second week, we will learn how to crochet a granny square and some basic in the round shaping techniques, which can be used to create 3-D shapes, such as hats and baskets. This class is open to all!
Skills learned in this class: how to chain, single crochet, half-double crochet, double crochet; how to crochet in rows; how to crochet in the round; 2-D and 3-D shaping techniques; increases and decreases.

Supplies
Yarn:
Washcloth: 1 skein cotton yarn; Granny Square: 2 (or more) colors worsted weight yarn
Hook:
a size G/4mm hook will work for both projects
Notions:
Scissors, darning or tapestry Needle

We ask that class fees be paid in advance (thank you!). A full refund will be granted with a 72-hour cancellation notice. Refunds or store credit will be issued if your class is cancelled due to low enrollment (which we hope never happens!).
Materials are not included in classes, but we do offer 10% off.
