Intro to drop spindle

If you’ve ever been curious about what it takes to spin your own yarn, join us for this introduction to the craft. Using a top whirl drop spindle, we will learn the basics of drafting and by the end of class will have learned how to spin a single ply.

Time: 6-8pm

Materials to bring to class: a top whirl drop spindle (schact and Snyder have great options). I will be providing students with 25g of roving Corriedale.

If you want to play with more feel free to bring a a 100% wool in Rambouillet, Corriedale, or Cormo, which are great, beginner friendly fibers. No merino or short stapled fibers, or blends please.

We ask that class fees be paid in advance (thank you!). A full refund will be granted with a 72-hour cancellation notice. Refunds or store credit will be issued if your class is cancelled due to low enrollment (which we hope never happens!).

Materials are not included in classes, but we do offer 10% off.
