Knit-a-LONG: King salmon
We take our salmon seriously around here—and with Salmon Days swimming into town this October, there’s no better time to cast on Caitlin Hunter’s King Salmon Sweater!
Whether you’re team fingering weight or prefer the cozy speed of worsted, there’s a version for everyone. Knit it just as written with the classic long sleeves, or make it your own with a breezy short-sleeve variation.
Along the way, I’ll be sharing plenty of ideas for customizing your sweater, including options for waist shaping, sleeve width and fit adjustments, and—if you’re feeling adventurous—guidance on splitting for the sleeves earlier than the pattern calls for. Whether you’re sticking to the script or adding your own twist, you’ll be ready to show off your salmon-inspired masterpiece at the festival in style!
Dates: Thursdays, September 3, 10, 24 & October 1
September 17 is a little breather.
Time: 5-7pm
Fee: $120
Instructor: Alyssa
Skill level: Advanced Beginner - Intermediate
Sweater experience is highly recommended, or at least the confidence to learn a technique or two on your own. We’ll cover modifications and customization options, but this isn’t a first-sweater or introductory colorwork class. To keep things moving, we won’t be teaching those basics from scratch.
